Trip Description

Holi in India is more than a festival. It is a moment of renewal, where colour replaces winter, joy lifts heaviness, and people come together in a spirit of unity that feels timeless. Rajasthan becomes a dreamlike setting during this season. Local families, village communities, and ancient traditions fill the air with warmth and celebration. The Holi experience blends seamlessly with the royal charm of palaces, the quiet strength of forts, the desert sky, and the living culture of each town. This journey allows you to explore Rajasthan at its most vibrant while taking part in one of India’s most beloved festivals.

DAY 1 – Delhi – Arrival

Welcome to India. Your representative or driver meets you at the airport with your name board and guides you comfortably to your hotel. After check-in, take time to relax and adjust to the pace of the city. Early arrival allows you to settle in and begin experiencing Delhi at a gentle rhythm.

DAY 2 – Delhi – Old & New Delhi

Explore both sides of Delhi. Old Delhi holds centuries of stories inside its lanes, mosques and Mughal monuments. The atmosphere is lively, filled with sounds, colours and daily rituals. New Delhi brings wide boulevards and landmarks connected to India’s independence such as India Gate, the Presidential House, Parliament House and the Secretariat. These areas reflect the modern identity of the capital. Your additional visits depend on your pace and preferences.

DAY 3 – Delhi to Mandawa

After breakfast, begin your journey toward Rajasthan and the Shekhawati region. The drive slowly moves from busy city life to quieter landscapes. Next stop: Mandawa Travel time: about 5 and a half hours

DAY 4 – Mandawa – Heritage Walk

Mandawa feels like a living gallery of art and heritage. Walk through streets lined with havelis covered in murals that have survived through generations. Each painted wall reflects old trade routes, folklore and the lifestyle of merchants who once passed through this region.

DAY 5 – Mandawa – Culture & Atmosphere

The quiet ambience of Mandawa makes it a beautiful place to slow down and understand Rajasthan’s creative soul. Spend time observing details in architecture, colours and local life before continuing your journey.

DAY 6 – Bikaner

Bikaner blends royal history with desert charm. Its fort is one of the few in Rajasthan built on level ground, giving it a strong and unique presence. The old town remains surrounded by tall protective walls that tell stories of earlier times. You may also visit the Karni Mata Temple, known as the Rat Temple, an important pilgrimage site for families across Rajasthan.

DAY 7 – Jaisalmer – Golden City

Jaisalmer shines like gold under the sun. Its fort is one of the rare living forts in the world, still home to families, shops and temples. Walk through narrow sandstone lanes and visit Patwa Haveli, Salim Singh Haveli, Gadisar Lake and Bada Bagh to understand the city’s heritage.

DAY 8 – Jaisalmer – Thar Desert Experience

By evening, the desert calls. Ride a camel into the Thar dunes, listen to folk music performed by local communities and enjoy cultural performances. End the night under a star-filled sky at a desert camp. This experience becomes one of the most memorable parts of the journey.

DAY 9 – Jodhpur

Jodhpur is the Blue City of Rajasthan. From the top of Mehrangarh Fort, the blue houses of the old town spread like a painted sea. Explore the Clock Tower market, Jaswant Thada and Umaid Bhawan Palace. If time allows, stroll through Mandore Garden to see ancient cenotaphs and peaceful green spaces.

DAY 10 – Udaipur – Lakes & Palaces

Udaipur is often called the most romantic town in India. Its lakes and palaces create views that feel both peaceful and dreamlike. The City Palace looks down on Lake Pichola and carries beautiful details in every courtyard.

DAY 11 – Udaipur – Culture & Sunset

A sunset boat ride on Lake Pichola is one of the highlights of the trip, as the light reflects softly on the water and palaces. You may also visit Princess Garden, Jagdish Temple and Shilpgram to experience local craftwork, art and culture.

DAY 12 – Pushkar

Pushkar is a sacred town centred around a peaceful lake. It is one of the oldest towns in India and home to the only temple dedicated to Lord Brahma. Walk around the lake ghats, explore the colourful market and enjoy the calm spiritual atmosphere. Pushkar offers a gentle and meaningful pause in the journey.

DAY 13 – Jaipur – City Highlights

Jaipur, the Pink City, welcomes you with royal charm and vibrant streets. Visit Hawa Mahal, Jantar Mantar and the City Palace. Walk through the old markets where Jaipur’s colours, jewellery and craftsmanship come alive.

DAY 14 – Jaipur – Amber Fort

Amber Fort awaits with its grand courtyards and hilltop views. Visit Jal Mahal and Birla Temple and take time to explore Jaipur’s famous jewellery and textile shops for beautiful keepsakes.

DAY 15 – Agra

Agra is home to the Taj Mahal, a masterpiece of love and architecture. Early morning is the best time to visit when the light is soft and the atmosphere calm. Explore Agra Fort to understand the life of the Mughal emperors. End your day with a sunset view of the Taj Mahal from across the Yamuna River. It is a quiet and emotional moment that stays with many travellers long after the journey ends.

DAY 16 – Delhi – Departure

Spend the day preparing for departure or exploring more of Delhi. Walk through Chandni Chowk or visit places of worship such as Sis Ganj Gurudwara, Fatehpuri Mosque and nearby Jain and Shiva temples. Your driver will take you to the airport according to your flight schedule. With memories of desert nights, palaces and warm welcomes, you carry a piece of Rajasthan back with you.
